Christmas Berimbolo Camp
The holiday break is almost here, and while most people are winding down, we’re gearing up for one of the most exciting training blocks of the year — the Christmas Berimbolo Camp at Chess Club Jiu-Jitsu.
Designed for athletes who want to sharpen their skills, refine their inversion game, and explore some of the most dynamic modern grappling systems, this camp is perfect for anyone looking to stay active and evolve during the Christmas and New Year period.
And the best part? It’s open to all affiliations.
Whether you’re a beginner wanting to understand the mechanics or a seasoned competitor aiming to add new layers to your bolos, this camp will give you the edge.
Schedule
Each session dives deep into a specific part of the game, giving you time to learn, troubleshoot, drill, and apply the concepts:
22 December – The Wedge - Gi
We kick things off by building the foundation of inversion and the berimbolo. Learn how to create the wedge, control the hips, expose the back and establish back control.
23 December – Twister & Crab Ride - Gi
A day dedicated to troubleshooting the wedge. When the partner defends, you’ll learn transitions into the twister hook and crab ride.
29 December – No-Gi grips & Counters
This session focuses on applying bolo concepts without grips and learning key counters to reverse the back take when the partner initiates berimbolos.
30 December – Leglock Defence (No-Gi)
Finish the camp strong with a session that ties everything together. Improve your leglock awareness, understand common traps, and learn how to find berimbolos out of leg entaglements.
